Social-networking has become one of the biggest ways of communication and collaboration in society today. Social networks like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram are all used by everyone including youth, businesses, and adults. One thing that I could do as a teacher to teach youth about and get involved in the real world is show them how to use these social-networks and communities professionally and efficiently. I could do this by making a community page on Facebook to allow students to collaborate and help eachother with difficulties they are having in class. I could show them how to make a professional Twitter or Instagram to promote something like fitness if thats the profession they want.  They are an unlimited amount of ways and uses for social media to prepare students for the real world. This was stated by an article called "How social media can help students study"

By making a Facebook community or group for students to collaborate it can show them many skills needed for the real world. This would allow them to communicate and act as a community in that class. This is also how many small and medium size business operate. I learnt this through my Fraternity, as a fraternity we have to operate as an organization. This involves collaborating on events, ideas, conversation on bylaws, and many more business related activities. A lot of businesses use Slack , which is a social network specifically used for collaboration and community conversation between departments. By teaching students the important part of collaboration and meetings this will prepare them for their future careers.

Another Social network that could help with youth preparing for the real world is Twitter and Instagram. These social networks are used by many professionals who are in charge of their own careers. By teaching students how to make a proper professional account to portray themselves or their future business, it will prepare them for the real world.
