What is one thing you plan to do as a teacher to create an inclusive classroom for gender-nonconforming youth?
As a teacher, one of the most important responsibilities is to ensure the safety and inclusion of everyone in the classroom. One thing that I plan to do to create and inclusive classroom for gender-nonconforming youth is being proactive in demonstrating values around inclusivity. This idea is suggested by a guide that aids in the inclusion of LGBTQ+ youth. I plan on creating a classroom that has restricted language and prejudices, while explaining to the the importance and consequences of using such language. By this I just mean that there will be no words or attitudes that attack or isolate a student for who they are, because we are all human and we have feelings. Another way that i could do this as stated in on a page called "5 Simple ways to create an LGBTQ-inclusive classroom" is by including resources in my classroom from LGBTQ people in the world.

I believe that these actions will promote an inclusive classroom for gender-nonconforming youth, because mosst youth aren't very well educated in LGBTQ history and their contributions to how we live today. Being uneducated in aspects like these in life aid in the creation of prejudices towards LGBTQ youth. By prohibiting offensive language with my classroom, it will aid in the creation of an inclusive classroom for LGBTQ+ youth because it will teach the students about the effects of this kind of language on the people they are saying to them and the people around them.
